Please note, we do not recommend taking a taxi from any of the Metro New York City Airports to SUNY New Paltz, as this is very costly.
To reach SUNY New Paltz from any of the Metro New York City Area Airports, we recommend traveling by bus via the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Buses from there stop right in New Paltz.
Step 1: Travel to Manhattan
From JFK Airport
Take Airtrain to the Jamaica Station then transfer to Public Transportation to reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Take an official licensed Airport Shuttle service.
From LaGuardia Airport
Take Public Transportation to the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Take an official licensed Airport Shuttle service.
From Newark Airport
Take the bus to the Port Authority Bus Terminal

Step 2: Travel to New Paltz
From the Port Authority Bus Terminal, take the Trailways Bus to the New Paltz bus station.
Buses typically run every 1-2 hours. The New Paltz bus station is a short distance from campus.
Students planning to travel on their own or in a group to SUNY New Paltz may want to reserve a car service to take them from the airport directly to SUNY New Paltz. Reservations can be made in advance by contacting the car service directly. Services such as All Transportation Network or GoAirlink offers door-to-door service from New York airports to New Paltz.
Stewart International Airport is the closest airport to New Paltz.
If you arrive at Stewart airport you can arrange taxi service to New Paltz by speaking with a Customer Care Representative in the airport terminal or at the welcome center.
