J-1 Scholar Immigration Check-in
All new visiting scholars in J-1 status must complete the mandatory Immigration Check-in process by providing copies of your US immigration documents to the International Programs office after you enter the US in J-1 status.

I-94 Arrival & Departure Record
Your I-94 record is an electronic arrival record. This was issued at the port of entry to the US and should indicate your current J-1 Status and your Date of arrival.
You will need to enter the information from your Passport

Emergency contact information
You will need to upload all required materials listed above.
Review and confirm you read over the J-1 Scholar Agreement.
Complete Immigration Check-in Form.
Once you have completed the above 3 you will submit your Immigration check-in request.
Once the above is accurately submitted, the International Programs office will review your documents and validate your J-1 immigration record in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) within 30 days of your arrival to the US, as required by law.
It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the terms of your J-1 status while in the United States.
