You will need to complete a change of level request, if you are completing one academic program at SUNY New Paltz and are planning to pursue another degree or program without interruption. This may happen if you complete the ESL program and are admitted to a degree program or if you complete an undergraduate degree program and continue for a graduate degree. Your I-20 must always reflect your current academic program. You must obtain the I-20 for your new program no later than the end of your 60-day grace period of your current program.
You must be admitted to a new program at SUNY New Paltz.
You must be in lawful F-1 status under the visa supervision of SUNY New Paltz.
Updated financial documents dated within the past 6 months showing available funds to cover all costs for one year of your new program. (Any questions about funding, please email international@newpaltz.edu.
Log in to your My ISS-Profile.
Click on “2. Requests.”
Under “What Can We Help You With”, see your request options, and click on the request you would like to make.
Ensure that your address is current in my.newpaltz.edu and that no holds exist on your record.

Digitally sign the Change of Education Level Agreement
Submit.
You will receive an email from the International Student Services office once your new I-20 is available in the International Student Platform.
