Housing Confirmation

The Housing Confirmation must be completed by all students, including those who are not requesting on-campus housing.

Living on campus is a great way to make friends during your time at New Paltz. You will also have easy access to campus resources and activities. Additional information about on-campus housing can be found on the
Residence Life website.

You can reserve a room on-campus by submitting the On-Campus Housing Request by the deadline (link to the request is at the bottom of the page).

Housing Requirements:

  • All students living on campus must have a meal plan. Details about meal plans can be found on the Food Services website.
  • Please note that bedding is not provided, even during the first night of your stay. Students are required to buy twin-XL bedding. Options include:
    • Bring bedding from home.
    • Purchase bedding and have it shipped to campus before your arrival – more information about this option will be emailed.
    • Buy bedding during the shopping trip on the first day of orientation.
  • Students staying on campus during academic breaks (e.g., winter recess, spring break) must live in designated 10-month buildings. These buildings are for international students, athletes, and student teachers.

Students Choosing Off-Campus Housing:

  • You are responsible for making your own arrangements.
  • Resources are available for off-campus housing. SUNY New Paltz does not partner with or endorse any specific company, housing complex, or landlord.

Eligibility for On-Campus Housing:

  • Admitted to SUNY New Paltz.

  • Must be an International Undergraduate, Dual Diploma, Exchange, International Visiting, or ESL student.

Special Considerations:

  • The Residence Hall agreement (license) is in effect for the entire academic year (Fall and Spring semesters) terminating at the end of the spring semester, or for the duration of the semester or Summer session for which you are enrolled if you are only coming for one semester.
  • All single, full-time (12 or more credit hours) matriculated first year undergraduate students (freshman) must live in University residence halls while enrolled for classes at SUNY New Paltz.

    Housing Request Deadlines:
    • Fall Admits (August Arrival): July 1
    • Spring Admits (January Arrival): December 15
